Before you contact an agency, think about what questions you may have about the volunteer position. We encourage you to ask some of the suggested questions listed below:

1.       What is the time commitment for this particular volunteer position?
2.       Can you please describe what you are looking for in a volunteer?
3.       Who will I be working with? Other volunteers? Other staff members? By myself?
4.       Who will be my supervisor?
5.       Is training provided? If yes, what are the dates and times of the training?
6.       Is there parking on the premises? If not, where is parking available? Is it free? If not, how much does it cost?
7.       Is the facility within walking distance to a bus or train?
8.       Does the office have an elevator? Are there any steps to get to the office?
9.       Are volunteers covered by the agency’s liability insurance policy?
