To provide socialization and planned activities for senior citizens at several locations throughout Essex and Morris counties. The JCC runs programs in Bloomfield, West Orange, LIvingston, Succasunna, Irvington and South Orange.

Volunteer Needs:

• NEW: Friendly Visitor - Home Delivered Meals Program: Volunteers are needed one morning a week (either Monday, Wednesday or Friday) to assist driver for a home delivered meals program, where the JCC delivers kosher meals to homebound older adults. NO driving involved!

• The JCC has a wonderful creative writing program for seniors, who write down their stories in long hand form. A volunteer is needed to type up these creative writing projects.

• Volunteers are needed to run a gentle, non-aerobic exercise program for senior citizens. Great opportunity for someone who likes to exercise or someone with an OT/PT background. Training will be provided.

• Russian-speaking volunteers are needed to lead an exercise program in our Irivington facility.

• Any volunteer with interest in helping at lunchtime with our senior programs (weekly programs followed by lunch.)  

• Program assistant needed in Caldwell on Mondays to help set up lunch for senior citizen program.  hours:11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m.

• Videographer needed 1 time only to videotape senior citizen exercise group for training purposes

• Volunteers needed for clerical/office work/mailing assistance on special projects

• Special event volunteers needed for senior citizen holiday celebrations at JCC
